Under the MAKAMBA brand, we have been fishing Head On wild prawns (500 tonnes a year) in Madagascar since 1998, using our own freezer vessels (fleet of 4 factory ships approved by the food safety authority of the European Union). Our exceptionally fresh and high quality prawns are very popular with industrial clients, distributors and caterers.
We have been producing Mangrove crab since 2003 and now develop a whole range of line-caught exotic fish (snapper, grouper, runner, king mackerel, etc), so that you can enjoy the best of the Indian Ocean.
As an environmentally conscious company, we practice sustainable fishing and our supply chain is based on the sustainable use of resources in order to safeguard maritime resources. As members of the GAPCM (Group of Madagascar Fish farmers and Prawn Fishermen), we have begun the process to gain an environmental label.
Our strong points
- Our Madagascar plant, which has been certified to EC and HACCP standards, has its own analysis laboratory certified by the Pasteur Institute, which enables controls and analyses before loading.
